Case study

An introducer of our Employee Value and Protection team got in touch to help cover a client who was worried about their £8m IHT liability on their goods and assets. The client was a Cypriot national, residing in the UK for eight years and plans to move outside the UK in the next three years to another jurisdiction, which was not full decided. The team were able help this client, applying their technical knowledge and experience to ensure the client obtained a policy that was fully portable and accommodating to their needs when they move outside the UK, should there ever be any changes in tax and legislation that could apply to the client in a retrospective manner. The policy was set up on a joint life, second event basis for a term of 99 years saving the client a considerable sum of money against a Whole of life insurance policy. We also managed to find a better solution for the client’s home, contents and valuables insurance policy, as well as secure another £10m of individual family cover.
