Lime Street Insurance Brokers Limited
Lime Street Insurance Brokers is a dynamic and client-focused Lloyd’s and London Market insurance brokerage, committed to delivering innovative and effective solutions across a range of specialist markets.
We are an independent Lloyd’s broker established in 2011, built on the traditional values of the insurance market while embracing a modern, client-focused approach. We are committed to delivering innovative, tailored insurance solutions with integrity, expertise, and responsiveness at the core of everything we do.
In 2023, we expanded our footprint into the European Economic Area with the establishment of a subsidiary in Germany, enhancing our ability to support clients across Europe and reinforcing our dedication to international service and compliance.
Our experienced management team is committed to building a business with global reach and a strong reputation for developing long-term professional relationships. These relationships are built on a deep understanding of each client’s business and their unique insurance requirements—not a “one-size-fits-all” solutions.
At Lime Street Insurance Brokers we foster a collegiate and welcoming environment for insurance professionals and their clients, encouraging the development of mutually beneficial, long-term relationships.
We recognise that producing brokers are inherently entrepreneurial, and our model embraces this by allowing them to focus on their strengths – free from the administrative burdens that often dull their competitive edge in larger broking firms.
To deliver consistently high levels of service, we place great importance on recruiting and investing in talented professionals and advanced, high-tech operating systems. Our team possesses in-depth knowledge of the insurance products within their areas of expertise and are dedicated to delivering cost-effective, tailored cover that meets each client’s specific risk profile and wider needs.
Role Overview
Lime Street Insurance Brokers Limited is seeking a Director to join our newly formed, progressive Employee Value and Protection team. In this key leadership role, you will be responsible for managing client relationships, ensuring retention, and driving sustainable growth within the team.
You will also work closely with the Head of Employee Value and Protection to cultivate strong partnerships—both internally and externally—with ecosystem collaborators and key stakeholders. Together, you will help shape and implement a forward-thinking strategy aimed at redefining the Wellbeing, Health, and Protection market.
This is a senior-level position suited for an experienced professional who is passionate about innovation and ready to challenge traditional approaches to insurance advisory within this evolving sector.
The Role
Key tasks and responsibilities:
- Develop and strengthen key relationships with internal stakeholders and external decision-makers to drive growth through new business opportunities, cross-selling, and increased market penetration.
- Support the Head of Employee Value and Protection by attending key business pitches, tenders, and site visits—providing market insight, client perspectives, and industry trends to help expand and deepen strategic relationships.
- Lead on client retention strategies, especially for high-value or at-risk clients. Collaborate with junior team members to implement effective action plans that secure loyalty and enhance long-term relationships.
- Play a central role in shaping the team’s growth strategy, contributing innovative ideas, thought leadership, and subject matter expertise to help drive the continued success of the team and wider business.
- Champion cross-functional collaboration, engaging with other areas of the business to deliver long-term strategic goals. Use relationship management, presentation skills, and content development to help secure and retain key clients.
- Mentor and support junior team members, helping them navigate career development pathways and actively contributing to the team’s evolution into a market-leading force in the Employee Value and Protection sector.
- Manage insurer relationships, working alongside the Lead Protection Specialist to ensure best-in-class client outcomes through proactive engagement and annual due diligence reviews.
- Contribute to brand building by supporting marketing initiatives, award nominations, and social media strategies that align with the team’s and broader business’s goals.
- Uphold Consumer Duty obligations, ensuring clients receive clear, comprehensive, and timely information. Strive for excellence in all client communications and documentation to support fully informed decision-making.
What We’re Looking For

- Proven experience advising large corporate clients and securing new business wins.
- Strong knowledge of employee benefits and protection products and market dynamics.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex topics clearly and persuasively.
- Solid understanding of the administrative and operational elements involved in managing employee benefits programmes.
Desirable Skills
- Experience working within a consulting or advisory firm environment, particularly in a client-facing, strategic role.
- A strong network of industry contacts, including insurers, providers, and corporate clients.
- Familiarity with Wellbeing strategies and integrating these into broader Employee Value Propositions.
- Experience contributing to thought leadership, such as speaking at industry events, writing articles, or developing internal best practices.
- A passion for innovation and disruption within the Wellbeing, Health, and Protection market.
- Knowledge of relevant regulatory frameworks, including evolving obligations under Consumer Duty and how they impact advisory services.
- Competence in using tools and platforms for CRM, reporting, or client engagement, e.g., Salesforce, MS PowerPoint, or employee benefits platforms.
